How it works
A RenoPro is an independent, licensed and insured local contractor we know personally.
Answer a few short questions and add photos if you have them. It takes a few minutes, and you don't need an account.
Your request goes only to the RenoPro who covers your area and type of work. It is never sold or sent to a list of contractors.
Your RenoPro sends a written quote, or an estimate with times for a short visit if they need to see the space first.
Accept, ask a question or decline from your private project page. If you go ahead, you pay your RenoPro directly.
Before a RenoPro joins, we check their finished work, WSIB coverage, liability insurance and trade licences. After you send your request, we keep track of it. If your RenoPro hasn't replied in time, they get a reminder, and if it is still waiting, Johannes gets an alert and follows up himself.

How we vet
Anyone can claim they're a great contractor. We don't take that on faith. Our vetting is personal, not an algorithm, which is why we keep our crew small.
Every RenoPro we work with is someone we know and have worked with directly, not a stranger who signed up online. We've seen their finished work.
We only work with people we'd let into our own home. If there's any doubt about quality or honesty, they don't make the list.
Every RenoPro carries WSIB coverage and liability insurance, and holds the required licence for licensed trades like plumbing and electrical.
If something goes wrong, Johannes personally steps in and works it out with you and your RenoPro.

RenoPro is our name for the independent local contractors we work with. Each one is licensed and insured, and someone we know personally. Your RenoPro quotes the job, does the work and invoices you directly. Their business name and details are on every quote.
We only work with pros we know personally. We've seen their finished work and checked their WSIB coverage, liability insurance and trade licences. Right now that means a small, hand-picked crew, and we'd rather grow slowly than add people we don't know.
Nothing. Renoquo is free for homeowners: no platform fee, no subscription, and no obligation to accept a quote. You only pay your RenoPro, directly, for work you agree to. Renoquo is paid by the RenoPro, through a referral fee on completed jobs, so you never pay Renoquo anything.

The quote you accept is the price you agreed to. If the job changes, for example you add work or a hidden problem turns up once walls are opened, your RenoPro explains it and asks for your OK before doing anything extra. Ontario law also protects you: if an estimate is part of your contract, the final price generally can't be more than 10% above it unless you've agreed to new work or a new price.
Of course. Your quote is free and there's no obligation, so you're welcome to compare it. Ontario's consumer guide recommends getting written estimates from at least three contractors, and a quote with labour and materials shown separately makes comparing easy.
